Episode 169: "The Pathway for a Leader."

Greetings, Summit Leaders.

Each of us has a pathway for our life and career journey. The exciting part of life is an awareness that there is a pathway for us as leaders.

Life presents challenges, tests, and trials that often keep us from discovering our pathway.

Every new job is a challenge - even for the most experienced leaders. Faith ignites the conviction, courage, and confidence needed to make it a great adventure.

It takes perseverance to keep going with the expectation that we will find our path, purpose, and plan for ourselves as leaders. Someone once encouraged us to keep on asking, seeking and knocking.

Persistence; not giving up matters. Believe it will open for us; if we don't quit.

Great leaders throughout history applied the principles they observed in the leaders in front of them. Today, a Summit Leader shared her faith in believing that she is here for a purpose and saw the challenges, doubts, and tests as opportunities to build her confidence and prepare her for more excellent leadership.

Leaders before us can provide the principles, show the evidence, and model responses that help us accelerate our growth and train us in rightly responding. Moses was considered one of the most outstanding leaders in ancient times; he modeled bold and courageous leadership for his assistant, Joshua.

He advised those he led to be careful and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your hearts as long as you live. Great leaders throughout history are eager to teach others and help them go further and accomplish even greater works.

A great leader's pathway is narrow. Her belief, conviction, character, integrity, and determination enable her to keep going, from victory to victory.

With each victory, she grows and gains strength for the vital, the more significant challenges ahead. She understands that her life's purpose is not comfort but preparing for the maximum impact on those she meets on her path.

Whatever your opportunities, big and small, don't shrink back in unbelief but boldly and joyfully enter into each of them! Work heartily. There is a great reward when we stay on the path. It is far more than we can ask or imagine according to the power at work in us.

It's a new season! It's a new day! As long as the world exists, there will be a time for planting and a time for harvest. There will always be cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night.

Trust that staying true to your path will surely bring you a harvest.

Envision your path leading to an open door of great opportunity to impact IBM, new customers in new ways, your family, communities, and all those you serve on your journey. Our new territory is in front of us. One brave leader said, "Let us go up at once and take possession of it, for we will certainly conquer it."
