This is the newest episode of the THREE THINGS I’M DOING TO OVERCOME OBSTACLES RIGHT NOW series, featuring interviews with women athletes over 40 about how they’re managing the real-life obstacles they’re facing in this new world we’re in.


This episode features an interview with gym owner and personal trainer Stephanie Scott. Here’s what she shared:


1. VIEW OBSTACLES AS OPPORTUNITIES


Similar to what Marissa Axell talked about in the first episode, Stephanie reiterated that it helps to view obstacles as opportunities. Instead of looking at the doors as closing in your life - think of creative ways that you can open new doors.


2. USE THIS TIME TO RECONNECT


Since we are physically separated from friends and loved-ones during this time, Stephanie is using this time to go back to a lost art of communication - the phone. She’s finding comfort in simple telephone conversations with the people in her life.


3. GROW YOURSELF


There are more opportunities than ever to learn something new online. If there was ever something you wanted to do but weren’t able to do before, give it a quick internet search to see what resources are available online. Take this time to grow as a person and do something you’ve never done before!
