I often hear guys wanting to learn how to be more masculine, or how to be more alpha, and the reason for this is to better attract women - because everyone knows that women lust after masculine men right?

But what if our hunt for masculinity was a red herring causing us guys to chase our tails, while still having no more success with girls than we did before?

Dating women is never simple, and building our self esteems as men is always an important part of the puzzle, but I have a suspicion that masculinity - or the common idea of masculinity is leading us astray.
