Ten days ago we watched games across all of baseball where every player wore number 42 in honor of Jackie Robinson. As a former Dodger it makes me proud to see the entire league celebrate a guy who loomed large in the Dodger organization ever since he broke in the league in 1947.

As Dodgers we were taught to work together with all of our teammates in honor of what Jackie and his teammates went through decades earlier and we were taught about the special relationship Jackie had with Branch Rickey, owner of the Dodgers who made him the first African American player in baseball.

So while Jackie Robinson Day was ten days ago I wanted to talk a little bit more about Jackie, because while that one day is a special celebration, every day is a day we feel the impact of his courage.
