We all have a voice in our heads that tells us to stop what we are doing in our efforts to be successful or make a change. That voice is a bully called the inner critic and there are three ways to put that guy in his place and keep him quiet.

First, you have to shine a light on that voice and acknowledge it exists. Your inner critic loves to live in the shadows hiding and whispering, so acknowledge they are present and accounted for so you can tell them to quiet down.

Second you need a good support system of voices giving you positive reinforcement. The louder the support around you is the less you’ll hear that critic trying to slow you down.

Finally, figure out what your strengths are and build those up so they are even stronger. If you spend time toiling in areas where you are weakest, your critic will eat you alive and you will listen. So focus on your strengths and even those flaws will improve but most importantly, that critic will wither away and begin to give up.
