Sex traffickers look for those who are most vulnerable to their
manipulation and who are unlikely to be reported missing. According to
the U.S. Office on Trafficking in Persons, common targets include:

* Runaways
* Homeless teens and young adults
* Unaccompanied minors
* Those from the foster care or juvenile justice system
* Those without a strong social support network
* Others whose socio-economic situation makes them vulnerable

But how does this happen? How do these children get pulled into sex
trafficking at such a young age?

Guest, Alia Dewees sheds light on this serious and growing epidemic in
our country. Alia is a sex trafficking survivor and now helps other
victims as an After Care Director and Survivor Leader for the
Safehouse Project, a wonderful organization that I have featured on the
show before.
