This lecture discusses key ideas from the ancient Christian rhetorician and philosopher's short treatise, On The Anger of God

Specifically it focuses on the first several chapters in which he discusses why philosophers, relying upon human reason unaided by divine revelation, go astray by relying upon plausible conjectures about matters. He also distinguishes three steps or levels (gradus) the philosopher would need to ascend and not slip back down from in order to more fully grasp truth
