This lecture discusses key ideas from the 19th century German Idealist philosopher, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel's work, the Phenomenology of Spirit
It focuses specifically on his discussion of the position of the Master in the famous Master-Slave dialectic, which involves enjoying the recognition coming from the slave, but also the enjoyment of the products worked upon by the slave. The master is able to satisfy his or her desire, but does not develop dialectically any further.
