Patient safety is a serious global public health concern. There is a 1 in a million chance of a person being harmed while traveling by plane. In comparison, there is a 1 in 300 chance of a patient being harmed during health care. Industries with a perceived higher risk such as the aviation and nuclear industries have a much better safety record than health care. (WHO)
In this episode, I speak with Dr. Soojin Jun PharmD, a patient safety advocate/activist, passionate about patient safety, empathy in healthcare, health equity, and bringing voiceless patient experiences to the conversations of healthcare innovation.
In this episode we talk about:
1. Patient safety and why it matters
2. The importance of cultural competence
3.Trauma-informed care
and much more!
