A police shooting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. 3 officers dead. An Angus Reid poll released just days ago shows most Canadians have confidence in police. There are lower levels of confidence among visible minority communities, however. Canadians have more confidence in our police than do American counterparts. Guest: John Wright. Senior Fellow: Angus Reid Poll - The GOP Convention starts tomorrow. Guest: Andrew Lawton, AM980 London Corus host, will be in Cleveland covering the GOP Convention for Corus radio.

- Republican delegate Marc Scaring is taking his gun to the convention and will be carrying it, conforming with Ohio's open carry law. He was very direct about why he and other GOP delegates are taking their firearms to Cleveland and the conditions which may require firearms for protection.  While water pistols and paintball guns are banned from the exclusion zone around Quicken Arena, real guns are permitted as long as the person carrying the gun(s) is licenced. Guest: Marc Scaringi, Republican delegate

- Alison Azer spoke with Roy last weekend about her former husband Dr. Saren Azer being detained by Iran, which also has custody of her four Canadian children.  Alison stated Iran contacted the Canadian government asking what Canada wanted done. No one replied to Iran. And Global Affairs Canada has interfered with the RCMP responding to Interpol. After Alison Azer held a news conference and spoke to Roy at length, she was "admonished" by Global Affairs Canada. She was told repeatedly, "Don't talk to the media. Don't talk to the media." Guest: Alison Azer, who reports on what happened after she spoke to Roy - Ron Miller is an associate dean at Liberty University. He is a 9 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a senior executive with FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security. He is also an African American father of a 21-year-old son who Ron describes as "gentle", but who can appear "intimidating".  Ron has had "that conversation" with his son about how to respond if challenged by police.  A black father isn't as confident his son will come home at the end of evening as a white father is. That's been said frequently in the last 10 days. How true is it? Guest: Ron Miller, on being a black man and a black father of a young black man in America
