An attempted military coup in Turkey last night. Is Turkey's president Erdogan likely now to move Turkey further from the West and being a secular state, more toward being Islamic? What must Western politicians do to assume an effective leadership role in battling terrorists and an enemy determined to destroy our way of life?

The Republican Party Convention begins Monday in Cleveland and some GOP delegates are taking and will be carrying their firearms during the convention. They argue it's concern about possible terror attacks. Reuters story earlier in the week suggested New Black Panthers Party members would also be taking firearms to Cleveland for the convention.  Their Chairman now is saying he did not make such a statement to Reuters.
