James Akam worked with Canadian troops in Afghanistan as an interpreter. After Canadian soldiers left Afghanistan life became tenuous for Afghanis who assisted our troops.  James parents were murdered he knew he had to leave.  A journey through Germany, contact with and help from a Canadian soldier and federal Immigration Minister John McCallum saw James arrive in Canada in April of this year.  In June his wife and five year old son joined him.  They all live in Calgary and James is wildly in love with his new country. James has just landed his first job in Canada and joins us to speak about this incredible journey.
