Gavin J Gallagher is an Irish property investor, entrepreneur and speaker. As Director of Earlsfort Group, his family business, he looks after their corporate real estate portfolio at East Point Business Park in Dublin comprising 38 buildings across more than 40 acres with than more than 50 occupiers employing between eight and nine thousand people. In this talk, Gavin will discuss his own story and key lessons he’s learnt from his experiences. Gavin’s story is truly remarkable, as a commercial property investor during the period 2003-2007 he was was on fire, the Celtic Tiger economy was booming and everything he had touched turned to gold, amassing tens of millions in profits while still only in his early 30’s. He was caught by the 2008 Global Financial Crisis and ended up 16M negative with three banks after him while he frantically tried to keep his sinking ship afloat. As an investor never forget the market is cyclical - you will be at the top and then you will be at the bottom, hence the importance resilience and when shit gets real just remember your stumbles and falls do not define you, it’s how you respond to them that matters.
