We talk a lot about empathy and trying to understand what patients and other people are going through. But until you are put in a situation where you are the patient and are at the mercy of medical professionals, it poses a very humbling experience.
Recently I have been in the position of a patient and made me get a glimpse of what it's like to be on the receiving side of healthcare

Overall this experience has helped me learn a few things about whats it's like to be vulnerable and be in a situation that you had very little to no control over and that sometimes.  Life just happens and that sometimes can be a hard reality some but there are those that have to live with life-changing events every day.
