A new pair of takahē have been released into Wellington's predator free wildlife sanctuary.
Three-year-old female, Waitaa and six-year-old male Bendigo join two takahē already living in Zealandia, Te Mara a Tane, meaning there's now double the chance of visitors seeing the endangered birds.
Reporter Jemima Huston was at the release.
