International aid is beginning to reach Pakistan as its flooding emergency threatens to leave a third of the country - an area almost the size of New Zealand - underwater.
Cargo planes from Turkey and the United Arab Emirates began the international rush to assist the impoverished nation, loaded with tents, food and other daily necessities.
Pakistan had already been grappling with a dire economic crisis and an intense heatwave before the monster monsoons hit.
