The part of the Ukrainian Army slain soldier Dominic Abelen worked for says it will do everything it can to repatriate a foreign fighter under their command. RNZ understands Corporal Dominic Abelen who was killed three weeks ago, worked for the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence as a paid soldier in the International Legion of Defence. The unit was created after President Zelensky asked for overseas assistance and will only accept people who have been to a warzone. The group's communications director, who is only known as 'Mockingjay', says it is made up of people from 58 countries, including New Zealanders, but is unable to confirm numbers.
