Eighteen roading projects on the West Coast are set to benefit from a plan to allocate $22 million to improving the overall resilience of the state highway corridor.
The Prime Minister, Chris Hipkins, made the announcement while he, in his capacity as Labour Party leader, was campaigning in the region.
The plan is to better strengthen the local roading system against extreme weather events of the sort experienced in the region recently.
