The government has hastily moved to ease its contentious lending rules that have been blamed for stopping people getting home loans.
Consumer Affairs Minister, David Clark has just announced that practical amendments will be made to the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act.
The amendments come after banks and borrowers complained the rules were too strict and were leading to delays in processing loan applications and a growing number of people being refused credit.
