Gisborne weather: Ruatoria man rescued family in tractor

A man in Ruatoria had to scoop up his family in a tractor as flood waters rose rapidly into their house.
The whānau from Makarika Valley in Ruatoria near the Mata river had water up to their thighs inside the home.
John Logan told reporter Charlotte Cook, he got a call from a phone call from his son in the middle of the night, asking for help.
