Wellington bus and train services could be suspended, if the impact of the occupation around Parliament worsens, making them too difficult to operate.
Already, buses are being diverted away from the central exchange.
Even though protesters are in and around the city's main train station - no rail services have been affected so far.
Wellington regional council chair Daran Ponter spoke to Susie Ferguson.
