Heavyweight veteran and three time title challenger Chris Arreola took on the up and coming power punching Adam Kownacki in what was looked at as crossroads fight for both men. The 38 year old Arreola was trying to prove that he still had what it takes to compete at a high level against the top fighters in the division while Kownacki was looking to prove that he was a threat to the big names in the division and worthy of a title shot. The fight was competitive in spots and was fought in a phone booth at close range with both men setting a record for the most combined punches thrown and landed in a heavyweight fight with a total of 667 punches landed and 2172 thrown. Although Arreola had his moments, Kownacki appeared to land the cleaner shots and at a higher rate over twelve hard fought rounds which was enough to secure him a unanimous decision victory. Eric and Beeb recap this fight as well as the rest of the past week's boxing action.
