After confronting dementia in his own family and witnessing elder financial abuse in friends, he decided not enough was being done to protect older adults. He helped design a clinical study at the Massachusetts General Hospital which investigated the behavioral and cognitive underpinnings of sound financial decision-making. Dr Heye is a regular columnist for the Journal of Financial Planning where he writes about technology, longevity and financial wellness. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and webcasts and is a member of the Financial Planning Association's (FPA) FinTech Advisory Group. He received his BA from Wesleyan University and Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
