Will the Real Jesus Stand Up? | Assembling the Dream Team

May 22, 2016 16:08

A lot of people these days say they love Jesus but hate the church. Which makes me wonder–how much do we as the church really know Jesus? Who was Jesus, to the people who encountered him? If we met him for the first time, what would we see? How would we feel? How can we remove all that has been added within our culture and our own personal lens to see Jesus as he is? What would he look like then to people who don’t know him?

Living a Questionable Life | Learning Christ

June 14, 2015 16:20

We continue our Living a Questionable Life series this Sunday with our fourth missional habit: Learning Christ. “Learning Christ” was a phrase that early Christians used to describe entering a period of committing oneself to an intense study of the person and work of Jesus. In order to effectively join in the mission of Christ we need to reclaim the practice of learning Christ. We will immerse ourselves in the person and work of Jesus together this Sunday.

The problem then is that if we’re not willing to be honest about our weaknesses then we will never truly experience Christ’s power. This mini-series isn’t so much about lamenting our weaknesses and helplessness; its about experiencing Christ’s strength and power.
