Dr Christine B. L. Adams, MD, is a child and adult psychiatrist practicing in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Adams has worked as a forensic child psychiatrist and been an expert witness in court cases involving custody and childhood sexual abuse. She also taught at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, was an appeals examiner for the Social Security Administration, a psychiatric consultant for the Department of Defense and is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Life Member of the American Psychiatric Association.


Dr Adams has published articles and contributed to textbooks on topics of child-rearing difficulties, child sexual abuse, frontal lobe brain pathology, women s sexual development, childhood aphasia, child custody disputes and parent-child alienations, as well as mental health stigma. She also co-authored with Homer B. Martin, MD “Living on Automatic: How Emotional Conditioning Shapes Our Lives and Relationships.” which provides a groundbreaking new concept of personalities and relationships based on the authors’ combined 80 years of psychotherapy work with people of all ages.
