Throughout history, indigenous people from China, Africa, and America have believed that music, particularly rhythm and drumming, is intertwined with healing and wellness.
And the military has used drumming for encouragement and to dispel the fear…
Actually, it is working…
For the Shaman is drumming crucial to go in another realm where he can heal or ask …
It is even proved that we can go by certain rhythms in a trance… And this becomes a problem for specific fabric work, that through a fixed rhythmic pattern the fabric workers go in trance…So that the fabric has to change continuously the rhythmic of the noise or labor work. Otherwise, too many accidents will happen…
Our society has forgotten the powerful drumming,
Drumming is much more powerful than meditation for relaxation and dispels our fears…And even easier to learn!
I have introduced the drumming for sleeping in a previous blog…This means you tap with your left and right hand on your tights in the rhythmic of the heart (60 to 90 beats), and after few minutes you slow down the rhythmic (30-45beats), and you will start yawning.
And this technique also works to lower our stress level.
Imagine your unborn kid always hears the heartbeat of his/her mother… If the heartbeat is going fast, the baby is getting nervous and if the heartbeat slows down the baby calms down….
Our mind is hooked up through the rhythmic and forget to think…
So deeper the drum sounds so more impact…
Try out with your spouse to breath deeply in and out and don’t try to be synchrony… After some time both of you are breathing synchrony…
We are hardwired to rhythmics
Other studies proof that drumming
1.) is calming down,2.) give us focus,3.) has healing effects for: hypertension, asthma, chronic pain, arthritis, mental illness, migraines, Autistic, cancer, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, paralysis, emotional disorders …,4.) boosts the immune system,5.) promotes the production of endorphins and endogenous opiates, the bodies own morphine-like painkillers, and can thereby help in the control of pain,6.) brings harmony in our brain, balances out our left (thinking) and right side (emotions) of the brain, and7.) Releases Negative Feelings, Blockages, and Emotional Traumas.
The easiest drum to learn is the African Djembe or the Indian Tabla… I have learned to play a little bit Tabla and taught myself the Djembe. I love the sound of the Tabla, and the Djembe is light, compact and easier to play.
