’Tis Christmas time, and for us that means memories of digging through cryptically labeled beta-max tapes, in search of the one which held the crown jewel of 80’s-kid Christmas specials - Will Vinton’s Claymation Christmas Celebration...with special guests The California Raisins! Reflecting back, we finally asked ourselves: Why were anthropomorphic raisins famous? Who created them and why? WHYY? (Apart from claymation being unequivocally rad) the answer is…uhh FDR made agriculture weird? Reagan-era marketing was shamelessly free-basing the smell of its own farts? We kind of find out, but Kait mostly talks about how their rendition of Rudolph was the best. We got all kinds of tidbits for your next 80s trivia night? Merry Christmas!
