Although all of us have goals, we can't reach them quite often, or we do it after a long and suffering journey. We might read about dozens of exciting techniques or approaches to accomplish our objectives, and still, some of them work perfectly, some of them don't, or they will work for others and not for us. The answer resides there, in the difference between people. A goal will be easier to achieve if it is consistent with our core values; it must be aligned with who we are, with how we see the world.

Joining me today is Roy Cook, author of the book A Fool's Errand. He is an entrepreneur, mentor, philanthropist, and author. Roy has an academic background in Physics and Math; he also worked in Procter & Gamble for seven years, and he worked in sales all over the West Coast. After more than 20 years in the corporate world, Roy started having panic attacks. He later discovered that his health issues were caused because some of his activities were clashing with one of his core values, integrity. That is how he decided to become an entrepreneur, and 11 years after living in alignment with his values and making his own mistakes, he retired.

In this episode, we talk about core values and their relationship with every person's life-goals. Roy shared his journey through the corporate world and made him quit and start his own business. We talk about why it is essential to focus on our core values to succeed and live a life of peace of mind and fulfillment. We also talk about our values' origin, and if it is possible to develop values we don't have.
