I first came across Dorie, when I saw a video of one of her talks, five years ago on a personal development course run by Lucy Whitehall and CABA. Dorie's ideas on reinvention and personal branding resonated with me and I reached out to her via her website. This was something that I rarely did, I did not expect to hear back and had no thoughts of starting a podcast at the time. I was amazed when she kindly responded, we started emailing, became friends over the years and I joined her REx group. Now fast forward five years, I had the pleasure of having her on my podcast and we had such a fun interview!

Dorie talked to me about why content creation is important for personal branding and told me "I'm definitely a big believer in that you need at bats because it is very hard to predict. I mean when I was first writing my first book "Reinventing You", prior to coming to that as a topic, I had come up with three different ideas for potential first books that I could create and you know it turns out like pretty much no one was interested in any of them! … "Reinventing You" actually stemmed from a random blog post that I had written for Harvard Business Review that for some reason, I did not think it was special, in any particular way but the market was like “this, we want this” and so it ended up turning into my first book!".
