Recovery For All

16 episodes - English - Latest episode: about 2 years ago -

Recovery For All is a mix of Interview/conversation style. We share stories, methods, modes, and jewels for recovery. Forms of recovery are vast and so many of us are doing it, yet we still struggle to talk about it openly. Here is a space to celebrate and learn together. From physical to mental fitness that is helpful for those who seek trauma-informed, problem-solving, healing, clarity, education, and acceptance in order to build resilience for mind-body, and spirit. This Podcast is about how we find new paths to recovery in an effort to combat an all too common rumination on what we have lost/never had, what’s knocked us down, or inhibited capturing the kind of success we desire.Recovery For All is open to all humans regardless of race, gender, color, creed, station, socio-economic standing. All of us seek to understand and recover from our experiences that have interrupted our previous trajectory, leaving us feeling “stuck.” Recovery For All has no ties to another single recovery method but instead adopts and explores the tools that make the most sense. Building recovery safely and effectively is paramount.

A reading of an interpretation of the Meta Prayer The Metta Prayer The Buddha gave a beautiful teaching on the development of loving-kindness called the Metta Sutta (also known as the Karaniya Metta Sutta). I’ve adapted the words of the sutta to formulate them as an aspiration that can be repeated in a prayer-like way. In order that I may be skilled in discerning what is good, in order that I may understand the path to peace, Let me be able, upright, and straightforward, of good speech, ...

Box Breath and 4/6 count breaths

October 04, 2020 14:00 - 10 minutes - 7.31 MB

Here is a tool for your toolbox placing focus on the breath. Mindfully we engage with the breath and then we place some intention on what it feels like to inhale retain exhale and retain at the bottom before inhaling again. The retention is to notice the difference in fluid breath vs times we are holding it. Noticing these things in a controlled time and space helps us to identify when we are holding that breath vs allowing it to come fluidly in times of stress. The breath helps us regulate ...

It could feel like not being able to sit still for a seemingly short period of time or it could be related to an experience that has stayed with an individual. This meditation can be a great place to begin building a foundation that helps us to identify and connect the mind and body. It can be something that is practic...
