The daughter of immigrants who came to this country at a tumultuous time, Sam Vilaysak is a business owner, a wife and a mother of one. In this episode, Sam discusses the challenges she faced growing up to parents who spent nearly every hour of every day working in a donut shop that was purchased from the Donut King himself, Ted Ngoy. Sam discusses the work ethic she developed from her parents, how that work ethic carried over into her own dream of owning a business, and how she works to find the balance between career and motherhood. Sam also discusses the difficulties of keeping a business open during the pandemic of 2020 and how she was able to find other sources of income to keep her business afloat.
