Waiting for rates?
Perspective: In 1971 mortgage rates were 7.33%. If you waited to purchase a home until rates went down, you waited until 1993. You would have rented for 22 years. Meanwhile, the value of real estate QUADRUPLED! During that time. Interest rates peaked in October of 1981 at 18.1% for a 30 year fixed. It was in 1998 that mortages averaged out at 6.91 percent.
