Be mentally ready. How to avoid the slow start associated with the problem of the Summer Slide. Learn about summer slide and how it trips up students. What you can do to keep those mental muscles in shape and flexible to meet this new challenge. Plus, what you should tell your parents.
Important matters learn about your new roommate — how to pave the way for a harmonious upcoming year. It’s about lots more than the size of the microwave.
Why going to orientation is a must. What you can learn, who you should talk to and why. What’s more, it’s a great place to make new friends.
Preparing for that first class in each course. This is a big deal. You can do lots of things before you ever step into the classroom. And with email, your prof may start the course and assign readings weeks in advance of that first class! Come prepared so you know what’s going on from the get-go.

Summer should be a balance of fun, relaxation, and looking ahead. Learn what you can do to build your confidence and take off at the sound of that starting pistol. (Critical point:  Students don’t recover from a slow start.)
