Previous Episode: Stop Waiting
Next Episode: Take a Fresh Look

Today is reminding you to stay true.

To stay true to yourself,

true to your heart,

true to your values,

true to your creative expressions,

and true to your own word and vows.

Don’t let the judgements, expectations, or opinions of others, real or perceived, hold you back.

Often growing up we take on, learn or have drilled into us, the fears, limiting beliefs or repeating patterns of those we love, trust, or rely on for care and support.

We’re taught that to fit in we must adhere to a particular belief system or moral code. And at such a young age we can feel that if we don’t fit in, we won’t be loved, accepted, or worse some people even fear being abandoned or rejected if they don’t do what’s expected of them.

Often these beliefs are the foundations on which we make our decisions as an adult.

They are so much a part of us that we never actually stop to question them, they just steer the show quietly in the background.

You can be sure that these patterns are there when you compromise to the point of losing the joy of your ideas, desires or creativity.

Of course, it may not be possible to always do exactly what we want all of the time, and compromise is often needed, but make sure that if you compromise or change your plans, that you do so from a place of awareness and not purely because you don’t have faith in yourself and your abilities, or you change your mind so that you will fit in.

In this very moment, just pause and take a breath, connect with the creative potential and joy you have burning, or maybe smouldering, within you.
