Main Idea: Disciples of Jesus must protect and pursue God’s intent and purpose for marriage even if
it costs them.

a. Divorce is contrary to the purpose of God.
1. Marriage is between one man and one woman for life.
2. In marriage, the two become one.
3. Marriage is the work of God.

II. Sin Makes Things Complicated
III. Holding to God’s Purpose for Marriage is Another Call to Uncomfortable Discipleship!
a. Pursuing God’s purpose in marriage is not easy!
b. Pursuing God’s purpose in marriage will not be popular.
c. God’s purpose in marriage is a picture of the Gospel!
