In this episode, I’m speaking with Helen Richardson-Walsh who famously won Olympic Gold in Rio 2016 in Hockey.

Our conversation really becomes framed around the inner workings of team environments, Helen was the youngest player to ever play for Team GB in an Olympic Game and we discuss what it’s like going into a team as a younger, less established player, to then how to create a positive environment years later as a more senior figure in the team.

We go into what was behind the changes that Team GB made between Olympics that moved them from Bronze to Gold, that she was able to cherish with her Wife and Teammate, Kate. Helen also talks about her experiences of transitioning as a coach and how looking through the lens of a players perspective has helped her look at the role in a different light.
