✔️ The entrepreneurial shift and the risk of employment. Dr. Avis was working in what she thought was the ultimate dream job until she found out it wasn't. "It was pretty toxic. It was pretty dangerous from my perspective because my job title insinuated that I had power that I really didn't have, and other people were making decisions from the outside." For the first time, she left a job without having that next job set up. Wherever you are in your life, she says to ask: Which do you want - the risk of being employed, or the risk of betting on yourself?

✔️ Dr. Avis reveals that the biggest thing that shifted everything for her was realizing that one can have more by doing less. By letting go of big contracts and big money in projects she didn't align with, she created a space for even more money to come in, focusing her efforts on one specific area and enjoying her business more.

✔️ Remember, you are in business to stay in business. Dr. Avis shares that she had to learn the hard way from holding on to the wrong people on her team. "You have to make the hard decisions, even if it might hurt you to have to say it. You have to have those courageous conversations and make the hard decisions for the health of your business."

✔️ Believe in yourself unflinchingly. Supplement that with the right education, the community, the network, and the energy you need. "If you're around a bunch of naysayers, they will make you doubt yourself. So you have to put yourself in the right community with around the right people, around other people doing it to help you see that it's possible. When you are surrounded in that space, you will hopefully develop the strength in the mindset to believe that this is going to work."

✔️ People try to avoid learning how to sell because of the discomfort and price of rejection. Many entrepreneurs forget that selling is woven into all parts of the business. Whether you're writing your copy, sending emails, trying to put the webinar together, or showing your countenance in the video, your energy is selling. You have to understand how to walk people mentally through that decision-making process. Selling is a skill set and art that you have to master. So when you make offers and the crickets come — rethink how much time you are wasting not doing the most crucial aspect of your business.

✔️ More millionaires and billionaires are made during down economies than ever. Recession is the top thing being talked about, circulating all around the news. You can mentally take yourself out of the game and lean into the worries from what you hear. Or, you can focus on your goals and figure out a way to be of service or impactful during this season. 

We've seen history unfold and how millionaires and billionaires are made during down economies. Breakthroughs can come out of a crisis because things don't happen when everything's going well. When the economy goes down, the cream of the crop rises to the top. That's when the real players are playing. Are you?
