I can reconcile these two slogans but I wonder if it really matters

Say the phrases black lives matter or blue lives matter and immediately people get bent out of shape. The fact of the matter is that 80% of Americans cannot reconcile both phrases and that is a tragedy. That attitude is spreading around the world and I would like to know what is the problem with reconciling those two slogans along with other truth in society? Let me explain my conundrum and my confusion here...
