Professor David Walker is a neurosurgeon ,spinal surgeon, genius and father. He has a special interest in brain tumours and is actively conducting research to help find a cure for this insidious disease.

He is also in the Australian Army Reserves and when he is not doing brain surgery and saving lives you will find him unwinding with his other passion golf. On a golf course not hacking away but with an impressive handicap of 8 for you golfers. It is a year ago this week I lost my dear friend and previous podcast guest Paul McClean to brain cancer, so by chance this was a timely podcast with a brain surgeon.

It is an honest chat , showing you the real human who sits over the desk at a time in your life we all pray we never have to face. It takes grit and resilience to become such a specialist . I haven’t spoken much about my Mum’s journey with a brain tumour for the past 18 years to date. She’s so strong and doing really well . This is my Mum’s specialist, it is my honour to bring this podcast to you.

The book Dr David references is Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl I dedicate this episode to my Mum Gaye McGrath , Paul McClean and everyone who has been lost , suffering or being affected by a brain tumour.
