S3 Summer Conversation Series with Genessee Montes

We are back again this summer with our Summer Conversation Series! Our goal is to hit up as many educators as we can and share their response to a single summer question.

Last year we asked all our guests a question about an external goal for education. “What’s one thing you want to change about education?” This year though we are going with a more internal and reflective question. “What is one thing you want to change about yourself to be a better educator, leader, or colleague?”

On this episode, Josh sits down with Genessee Montes, a principal in Mesa, AZ. Genessee is about to start her 11th year impacting students as the principal of Jefferson Elementary and she talks about what she wants to work on for our Summer Conversation Series. Genessee is also a Facilitator for AVID and the Hispanic Leadership Institute in Arizona. As a bonus our friend of the pod, Alex Valencic shared a little conversation with a student about why she loves punk rock!
