NSO Group - Private Israeli spyware used to

hack cellphones of journalists, and activists worldwide

Military-grade spyware, licensed by (NSO Group) an Israeli firm to governments for tracking terrorists and criminals, was used in attempted and successful hacks of 37 smartphones belonging to journalists, human rights activists, business executives and two women close to murdered Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, three presidents, 10 prime ministers and a king all targeted by Pegasus spyware. The Guardian reports that Morocco, Rwanda, Mexico, India and the UAE are some of the countries that used Pegasus spyware to surveil world leaders. NSO Group has denied that Macron was targeted by the spyware, and Rwanda, Morocco and India have denied involvement in spying on journalists and politicians.
