I am an author and photographer from Cleveland, Ohio and I am in the process of writing a and directing a documentary titled, The Artist. It chronicles the real-life experiences of three artists. You will witness their hopes, dreams, accomplishments and heartbreaks as they try to make ends meet in the real world.
Why make a documentary like this?, you ask.
Because we live in an age where art and creativity, considered by many to be a useless talent that only lazy eccentrics indulge in, is being squeezed from the schools and our society.
The work of artists is all around us. Art not only decorates our walls, it adorns our cereal boxes, our book covers and shopping bags. It dazzles our eyes with colors, patterns and designs. The hand of an artists has touched just about everything we see, touch, hear and feel.
But Imagine a world with no art. Seriously.
Think of it. The world we live in would be lifeless, colorless and dull.
It is my goal to show each person who “views” my documentary an authentic and personal, in-depth view what it’s like to create “a work of art” while at the same time try to make ends meet. Maybe, just maybe, if I can enlighten the world about the ups and downs of an artist it will help legitimize their work, their efforts and their dreams.
To make this project possible I am going to need your help.
I’m inviting each of you to take part in this production. Your support will assist with exorbitant production costs involved with making a film. My goal for The Artist is to raise five-thousand dollars. I know what some of you are thinking, that sounds like a boat-load of money….and it IS. BUT if you hear me out I’m happy to break it down for you.
Productions staff, Location fees, props, high-end cinema equipment, and transportation adds up pretty fast. That’s where you come in. If two-hundred of you were to donate just $25 each, we would reach our goal practically overnight. Every donation will help complete this production and get it distributed around the world
