On this week's episode we welcome the wonderful and wise Millicent Souris. Millicent is the Rescue Food Coordinator at the largest emergency food provider in Brooklyn, called. St. John’s Bread & Life. We talk about growing up in her family's bar, the death of her father and handling grief as a young person just starting their adult life. Millicent has so much depth and warmth and strength, and it was such a rich conversation. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Please note, this episode was recorded on the first day of protests for the murder of George Flyod in New York City. We feel it necessary to mention this, as we do not discuss the protests or the incredibly important Black Lives Matter movement that is currently happening throughout the country. We stand with the protesters and people on the front lines of this movement. We are getting involved however we can, and urge you to do the same.

In March, HRN began producing all of our 35 weekly shows from our homes all around the country. It was hard work stepping away from our little recording studio, but we know that you rely on HRN to share resources and important stories from the world of food each week. It’s been a tough year for all of us, but right now HRN is asking for your help. Every dollar that listeners give to HRN provides essential support to keep our mics on. We've got some fresh new thank you gifts available, like our limited edition bandanas.
