Welcome to the very first episode of Private Practice Matters with Dr. Phil Boucher. This podcast is designed to provide insights and resources to tackle the tough issues in practice without stealing any more of your time.

This week on the podcast we are discussing me. I am a private practice pediatrician in Nebraska practicing with 12 other pediatrician partners. I love being back in my hometown practicing pediatrics. Family, parenthood, marriage, and my faith are the most important things in my life and I have worked diligently to build my practice around those things, rather than focusing on one or the other.

My aim is to teach physicians how to run a business rather than simply work in a practice. In medical school, we were taught how to be doctors. We were not afforded the opportunity to learn how to run our practices when we made it into the real world. It is time to focus on efficiencies and systems so that we can leave work at work.

In this first episode, I share my 6 Pillars of Private Practice and why they are important in creating a practice that works. Listen in! I’m looking forward to sharing how your work and your life can come together without overshadowing each other.
