CHRISTIAN PARENTING IN A BLENDED FAMILY

This week we are asking God to help us find the root of anxiety in our kids and family. I'm tired of the enemy using anxiety to hurt those we love. I don't have all the answers but we are calling on the one who does.

Action Steps:

This week, take time to ask God to shine a light on the root issue of our children's anxiety. Ask God these hard questions.

Is there anything I can do to help my child feel less anxious?

What seems to trigger the anxiety?

Does my child need to get professional help?

Is there anything I am doing as a mom to cause the anxiety?

I believe God will begin to show you things. He wants your child to experience peace and joy even more than you do. But remember sometimes when we pray for things, situations surface and it may seem like a bad thing, but it's actually exposing the root.

Be on the lookout with an open heart and mind.

Focused Prayer:

Father, I know you love my kids even more than I do. You tell me to give all my worries and cares to you because you care. I am concerned about my children's mental health. You take care of the birds and the flowers, how much more will you look out for my kids. You left them with the gift of the Holy Spirit that gives them peace of mind and heart. Help them reject the lies of the enemy and discover the power, love, and self-discipline that comes from you. Father, reveal the lies the enemy is telling my kids so that we can get to the root of the problem. Show me how to help my children overcome anxiety. Let me be someone in their life that lifts them up instead of weighing them down. If there is anything that we can do in our home to help, show me. If it is completely out of my hands, I trust that you are taking care of every last detail.

In Jesus Name, Amen!

Scriptures to Pray This Week:

Matthew 6:25 That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?

John 14:27 I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity but of power, love, and self-discipline.

Proverbs 12:25 Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up.

1 Peter 5:7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
