My guest today, Kara Elise, is a genuine hostess encouraging us to live more fully, one event at a time.

Kara is a chef and experience curator; she focuses on creating spaces and experiences that cultivate community. In a culture obsessed with technology, being busy, and overstimulation, slowing down is not easy to do. Kara believes that creating intentional time to sit with others is an essential practice. A moment to feed our bodies and fill our deepest human desire - to be seen and known.

When she moved to LA, this simple question sparked her entire business: If money didn’t matter, what would you do with your life?

“Have people over for dinner,” she answered. And thus put the wheels in motion.

She believes you can find your purpose by looking at the intersection of what you love doing and what serves others.

Tune in below to find out her favorite table questions to ask to get that conversation and connection going!

In this episode, we discuss why who we spend time with matters.

You have to surround yourself with others who have what you want, so that you can see what’s possible.

Kara asks the question, when we see something good happening for others, do we feel envious or do we see what’s possible for our own lives? The latter opens us up to more gratitude.

In her wise words: Show me your friends, and I’ll show you your future.
