Happy Easter!  He is Risen!  Psalm 118:24 says, “This is the day that the Lord has made.  We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Today is the Super Bowl of the Christian faith; we can rest on the promises made by God to us.  You get today, you get Christianity.  If you don’t get today, you don’t get Christianity.

A sign from high school: Three types of people – Make things happen, Watch things happen, Wonder what happened.

In any given situation, aren’t we in one of the three categories?  In my life, I’ve always remembered that sign with the idea that I want be the one to make things happen in my life.  That’s our culture: Take the bull by the horns, pull up your bootstraps, seize the day.  But maybe that isn’t the best advice.  Considering the death and resurrection of Jesus, maybe we need to flip the priorities of making, watching, and wondering. Maybe it’s time to be okay with “wonder” again as our first option!!  Maybe even a dangerous wonder!

Looking back at a few key events from the final week in the life of Jesus, we have some examples of people who could fall into each category of making, watching, and wondering. Many of us can tell the Easter story from memory. We’re familiar with the multitude of characters who had parts to play in the rising action of His story.  What was their impact?  Were they makers, watchers, or wonderers?
