Early on Sunday morning, a sweeping cyber attack hit Nine Entertainment Co’s corporate network, forcing Weekend Today off air, disrupting the network’s broadcast technology and measures taken by Nine’s tech team impacted some aspects of the Herald and The Age’s publishing systems.
The attack, which experts have described as extremely sophisticated, bears all the hallmarks of a ransomware attack, however, no demands for money have been made.
