Over the next 24 hours around 70 world leaders will arrive in Egypt for the COP27 climate talks.
Since last year’s meeting in Glasgow the world has been racked by crises - including historic floods across swathes of Asia and droughts and heatwaves across Europe, the United States and Africa where millions now face famine.
Today, research director at the Climate Council Dr Simon Bradshaw, joins national environment editor Nick O'Malley to discuss what climate negotiations might achieve in these circumstances, and how Australia’s new position on climate is being received by the world.
