By using Integrated Weed Management (IWM) strategies, of course. These include physical, cultural, biological, genetic, regulatory and finally chemical tools as a last resort.

Kate Blood is Program Manager for weed management at the Victorian Department of Energy, Environment, and Climate Action (DEECA, formerly DELWP). She's the perfect person to explain how to actually get rid of weeds, rather than simply spending your whole budget on making a great initial result that will become undone within 12 months.

Because, let's face it, sometimes weeds need more than a single effort to be removed. Once they've become established, they can take multiple approaches and years of effort. And years... and years... and years...
